Finding unique weight-loss motivations
Sometimes, if internal motivations aren’t enough, you can band together with those around you and find a reason to do something great for your health.
A group of women from a small church in New Hampshire have done just that. Calling themselves “Pounds for Petrol” they have decided to lose weight together and hope to use the project as a way to raise money for their church heating bills.
“We’re losers that are winners,” Beddie said. “People ask me, ‘what is your goal?’ and I come back and say 70 pounds. But the goal is to stay healthy and lose as much as we can in a healthy way and also to exercise grace with those who are trying to lose and the numbers aren’t coming up the way they’d like.”
Admittedly, they have goals beyond the weight loss. But, when youre health is involved any motivation to do something so beneficial is great. Even if they don’t raise their money, they will be doing something positive for themselves.
5, 10, or 50…dropping excess pounds is a good thing if you’re overweight! If you’re having trouble with motivation, look around you. See if there is some way you can find the spark you need to start you on the right path.
