Be Comfortable During Your Period

peirod conftLet’s face it, no one is ever happy to see their period come. There is always cramps, bloating, a little worry, fatigue and some irritability. Menstruation is so important to make sure that you can continue to conceive life and be fertile. However, it is not something we often enjoy. Here are some tips to make sure that you’re as comfortable as possible when your period comes knocking.
Always have a tampon AND a pad. If you’re a woman who likes to wear tampons always make sure that you have a pad with you. Your period is always the heaviest the first two days. Even if you use the super absorbent tampons accidents can still happen. It is a good idea to wear light pads with your tampons on your heaviest days.
Do not stress! Stress can severely aggravate your period. When you’re on your period your hormone level is extremely high which means you are more susceptible to headaches and migraines. High levels of stress can make your cramps worse. Stress can also cause your period to drag on or come at an unpredictable time. You may feel as if you stress more during your period but try to take a break to avoid this from happening.

Get plenty of nutrients.This tip is really important because you lose a lot of menstrual blood during your menstrual cycle. A good source of protein is banana’s for potassium. I would also suggest grabbing a bottle (or can) of V8 juice. V8 juice provides you with all the daily servings you need of fruit and vegetables. They also come in really yummy flavors like mango and strawberry and banana. You may also have a chocolate craving but try to keep it under control. Eating junk food like chips and chocolate can make your body feel bloated and heavy.

Get plenty of rest. During your period your sleep pattern may seem to be completely off track. It is important however, to make sure that you get as much sleep as you possibly can. A lot of woman experience fatigue during their period and a quick hour nap could help make you feel a little more refreshed. It also important that you get at least 7 hours asleep at night.

Make yourself comfortable. Treat yourself to a nice hot bath and a cup of chamomile tea. Unlike regular tea chamomile tea can actually help sooth your cramps. A hot batch is also always nice to enjoy!
