I love a good burger as much as the next gal. However, consuming a lot of red meat on a regular basis is not good for me. It’s not good for my heart, my colon and numerous other body parts. But the temptation to eat a–to coin a slogan from the latest Wendy’s ad campaign–“hot, juicy burger,” can be hard to resist.
But I’ve discovered a beef alternative. Burger enthusiasts will no doubt gasp in horror, but just hear me out. I’m talking turkey. Yes, the turkey burger is actually delicious.
Many already know of the turkey burger. I’m just here to say that even the most carnivorous of people (ala, myself) can be converted to a healthier option. What I’m trying to say, is you don’t have to sacrifice all that you love to eat healthily. But you can compromise. That’s the true key to a balanced life.
So instead of grabbing the ground beef at the market, why not grab some ground turkey? Season it up like beef and it will have a burger flavor that goes beyond what you expect. What’s more, is you won’t be consuming all of that lard!
