This may sound a little strange but the banana fruit can make an excellent hair conditioner.
Using banana in your hair can help increase the shine and make your hair more manageable. Believe it or not bananas even nourish the skin and prevent dandruff build up.
There are some salons that sell the banana conditioner for a really high price. However, here is a way you can make banana conditioner in your home for a $5 or less.
- Make sure you peel the banana first. You can save the banana or throw it away.
- After you peel the banana you need to mush it down with a fork in a bowl. If the mixture is a little lumpy at this stage it is OK. At this stage you want the banana to be pulpy.
- Pour into the bowl 1/2 a cup of honey. Then with a cake mixer pulverize the mixture until it is smooth. When the mixture is done it will be light brown and look like a normal hair conditioner.
- Pour the conditioner that you just made into an empty shampoo bottle. This conditioner is very concentrated and you only need a small amount when you use it.

The purpose of this conditioner is not to only make your hair shine. The banana conditioner has excellent nutrients for the scalp and the roots.
So, as you are working this conditioner in your hair make sure that you work the conditioner completely through your hair and rinse it out really well! Some people may like the banana pudding smell their hair will have after using this product.
If you do not like the smell add some sweet-smelling oils to the conditioner bottle and shake it up to spread the oil evenly.
Here are a few videos that go into more detail and each has their own approach to the recipe.
